Jake Cleland Memorial Scholarship 2022

Manhattan Beach, California – June 16, 2022 – 5 graduates of Mira Costa High School have been selected as the 2022 recipients of the Jake Cleland Memorial Scholarship. This group of young adults have faced various challenges yet have persevered in their quest to achieve their goals. They are honor students, volunteers, athletes, inventors, travelers, dreamers, and doers. Each working toward becoming psychologists, surgeons, engineers, and financial planners.

The Jake Cleland Memorial Scholarship was established by Strand Hill in memory of Jake Cleland, a Strand Hill team member, who passed away September 6, 2019 at the age of 26 of Epilepsy. Jake was a lifelong resident of Manhattan Beach and a graduate of Mira Costa High School. He touched so many lives and loved his hometown deeply.

In the words of one of the recipients; “It is only when we open our minds to change that the possibilities of the world become infinite.”
