He learned everything he knows about Real Estate from his mother, Lorie O’Connor, and her 30+ years of experience.     Having moved to LA not knowing anyone, we were in need of a real estate broker. We met with several just by walking into their office. The ones that we met this way were not very good. They were mainly interested in selling you a home and collecting a commission and provided very little substance or value-added information from what you could otherwise get online. We met Dan through a referral and he was a refreshing change. After meeting him, we decided that we wanted him to represent us no matter where we purchased. What struck us immediately about him was that he seemed to be genuinely interested in finding us the right home and was willing to invest the time both to get to know us and our needs and to educate us about the nuances of each area. Dan has a lot of contacts in the area and he has a firm understanding of valuations and which properties will be in demand. When you meet a broker you often worry if they are being objective and are just trying to earn a commission. Dan is definitely not the type of broker who is looking just to get you to buy something as quickly as possible. There were numerous instances where he would tell us something was way overpriced and that he would not offer anything near their asking price. Even when we found a house we wanted to buy, he told us, “I just do not see you in that house or that neighborhood.” (Turned out he was right.) There were other times where we thought a home was overpriced and he told us that the home would sell close to asking if not over and that we had to bid aggressively if we really wanted it. (Turned out he was right again). Through working with Dan over the course of 12+ months, we can say that he is both knowledgeable about the market, but more importantly, he has incredible integrity. As we were getting to know LA, it took us a while to figure out what we wanted. For a while, we were all over the place and would go back and forth and change our minds. Through it all Dan was patient and stuck with us. We ultimately decided we wanted to live in a very specific area where there is extremely low inventory, especially given our very specific needs. We knew that this was a difficult task and the odds of finding this place in the near future were slim at best to say the least. Nevertheless, Dan worked very hard to find us this place. He sent out mailings to the owners of the handful of homes we were interested in and used his extensive contacts to uncover pocket listings that would not be available publicly. After over 12 months of searching, we finally got the home we were looking for and we have Dan to thank for it. We would definitely use him again and would recommend him to others.


    Honest, patient, knowledgeable, credible and reliable are just a few keywords that describe Dan O'Connor. Dan is one of the few good guys who truly places his clients' best interests ahead of his own. For Dan, it's not about how fast he can earn a fee, rather, it's about making sure his clients are happy.     We have worked with Dan and his office on three separate buy/sell transactions and one rental. When we were relocating from Colorado to California, I called countless agents for help. It was great to see that Dan's high standards carried over to others he brought into the deals. Dan is very well connected and everyone who knows Dan likes him. I really can't say enough good things about him and trust me....I'm a very tough, but fair, critic. If you're looking for someone who knows his stuff, is well respected, takes his work and clients extremely seriously and has a fantastic network, there is no one better than Dan.


    Dan represented me on purchasing a home in Hermosa Beach. He had an incredible pulse on the market and once I was under contract to purchase the house, he was very adept at solving any issues that arose during the transaction process.     We dealt with Dan on a long distance basis to help acquire property in Los Angeles on a S. 1031 Tax Free Exchange. His local knowledge and contacts resulted in finding a property which the sellers had just placed on the market! We had an issue with closing our purchase but this was not Dan's fault. The issue was due to the mis-handling of escrow funds by the Escrow Company. Dan stayed on top of the issue and kept us updated throughout the delay.
